I am the first to find blog posts annoying because there is so much “stuff” at the beginning of the artcile and i usually just scroll down to the meat because well, who has time for that??

so here it is, 7 tips to create your best instagram profile as a start up or small business entrepreneur.

BIO

Treat this like your shop front. this needs to explain (in 150 characters) who you are and what you do. including your tag line, a branded hashtag and some personality is always the best way to go.

HIGHLIGHTS

HIghlights are created from your stories and should be the most VALUABLE information to your audience. think of it this way, what do you want your target audience seeing as soon as they hit your profile?

PROFILE PICTURE

Make sure it’s simple and clear. those profile pictures are tiny. If you can’t make out what it is at that size, time to switch it out.

CONTACT INFORMATION

get contact information on there. otherwise, how do clients reach you? I encourage you to include your email. don’t make them go off to a different platform just to get in contact. they will likely not take that many steps and move on.

YOUR WEBSITE

So if you want to be known as a professional and a trusted one at that, you need a website. it doesn’t have to be complicated but i always say to start ups a website should be budgeted in to get you established. understanding that a good website can help you with leads, customer service and workflow process. they aren’t simply a beautiful platform ANNOUNCING your offerings.

YOUR LOCATION

NO matter your business you really need to indicate where you are located. even if it is as something as simple as adding your country’s flag emoticon.

CLEAR UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT YOU WANT YOUR VIEWERS TO DO

So you have this beautiful instagram profile but what do you want your viewers to do with it? read your blog, visit your website, contact you? be sure your ultimate goal is top of mind when creating your profile.
